Coach,
The 333 Annual Mt. Carmel/Movin Shoes Cross Country Invitational will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2013at Morley Field in Balboa Park. The races will be held in the section of the park that was part of the Footlocker National XC Championships. Over 90% of the race distances are contested on this famed cross country course.
With an
individual based format that allows the coach a chance to
look at their team in grade level races, the invitational
also gives the out of town coach a fine opportunity to take
their team to a great competition where after they can go to
the beach, visit the world famous San Diego Zoo, or even
visit Sea World.
Race
distances are 2.95 for boys and 2.75 for girls. Each race,
freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior, will award 50
places for athletes. Each race winner will receive a pair of
adidas shoes. We will again offer two division sizes (Large, Small). Last years meet had 84 schools competing and had 3000+ runners competing in the sixteen races.
If you are interest in participating in this years meet we suggest that you contact me as quickly as possible as this meet does not accept unlimited schools. We will limit the meet to approximately 80 schools. This meet will be sanctioned by California, Arizona, Oregon, Hawaii, and Nevada. Schools entering prior to July 1 are sure to be placed correctly in their divisional size.
We are asking coaches to fill out e-mail addresses to assist us with communication. As we get closer to meet day you will find us putting information on this website as well as San Diego Track Magazine (www.crowncity.com/sdtrackmag/). We hope this will help keep you better informed.
